Islamabad: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has condemned the manhandling, kidnapping and detention of senior journalist and Vice President of Karachi Union of Journalists, Rafique Baloch, and has sought an impartial inquiry into the matter.

According to the PFUJ issued press release, Mohammad Rafique Baloch was on his way on Monday morning towards the Sindh High Court, Karachi Building to attend the hearing of the 7th Wage Board Award case pending before the SHC and was today fixed for adjudication.

At about 8.30 am when Rafique Balouch reached Arts Council Building adjacent to the Sindh Assembly he was whisked away by some unknown persons who threw him in a vehicle by force.

The unknown kidnappers also manhandled him and claimed that "agencies has reported to the highups that you might throw show on the face of Chief Justice of SHC during hearing of the wage board award case, and we were deputed to remove you from the scene".

The PFUJ has strongly condemned the incident and said that it is very unfortunate that journalists were being maltreated and humiliated on flimsy pretext and such act also indicates that "judiciary and both are playing ha-vice with the people".
