6th April 2011, Thousands of peasants to demand land rightsDear all, Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee condemn the brutal treatment of the Mozareen in Khanewal and Okara. The police and the administration of Punjab have no plan to honor their promise to hand over this land to the Mozareen. The chief minister Shahbaz Sharif talk of gifting 25 acres to cricketers shows the real mindset of these capitalist feudal politicians. A new wave of struggle has to be started to force the rulers to honor their promises that has been made several times to several groups. On 6th April 2011, thousands of Mozareen will join a massive public meeting on the occasion of the second death anniversary of three Mozareen killed on 6th April 2009 in Kulyana Military Estate Okara. The event is organised by Anjaman Mozareen Punjab in association with Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee. We hope the bring together representatives of the social movements, and progressive political parties. Labour Party Pakistan has already agreed to participate in this event. This is an open invitation to all of you to come and participate in this massive rally. Hundreds of power looms workers will also come from Faisalabad to join this public meeting and show workers solidarity with peasant movement. Mian Abdul Qayum chairman of Labour Qaumi Movement will lead this workers rally to Okara. Last year in 2010, over 3000 peasants went to Faisalabad to attend a Mazdoor Kissan Conference held at Dhobi Ghat Faisalabad on the occasion of LPP congress. There is dire need of unity among the peasants, workers, progressive political parties and social movement to demand for land rights for the Mozareen (tenants) and also to demand an end of feudalism. We invite every one of you to join us in this historic struggle for land rights in Pakistan Mehr Abdul Satar secretary Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee general secretary Anjaman Mozareen Punjab |
