Wasa: Pay your water bills or lose connection
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has launched a special recovery campaign in the district.
On Tuesday, Wasa agents appealed to consumers to pay their arrears and bills immediately thereby avoiding punitive action. A WASA spokesperson said that special teams had been constituted to pay door-to-door visits to ensure 100 per cent recoveries in this regard.
He said that illegal connection holders could lose their water connection if they did not pay their bills on time and that the facility of installations would also be provided to consumers during this time. Meanwhile, desalting of a main sewer line has also begun in the district. Work in GM Abad, Liaqatabad, Jinnah Colony, Gulistan Colony, Aath Bazaar and Partabnagar has already begun.
“We have asked all residents to register complaints with the Wasa office and to be patient as the desalting campaign will end within a week,” he said, adding “these measures have been taken to ensure that all pipelines are clean and so we can test the water.”
