Istanbul hosted a conference on murdered Armenian journalists

Armenian journalists who became the victims of massacre in 1915 have been commemorated during a news conference of writers and journalists in Istanbul. According to Turkish “Cumhuriyet” Agos weekly’s editor-in-chief Rober Koptash, Turkish journalists Ali Bayramoglu, Bulent Tellan, writer Ragip Zarakolu and others were preset at the conference.

Koptash declared that the lists made by the “Turkish journalists’ Union” (TGC) and “Union for Modern Journalists” are poorly done and that they don’t include Armenian writers, journalists and editors arrested and killed on April 24, 1915. Due to that poor work, Turkish people think that only one Armenian journalist has been murdered in Turkey.

In February “The Union for Modern Journalists” included 9 Armenian journalists in its (Grigor Zohrap, Yervand Sirmakeshhanlyan, Atom Yarjanyan, Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Ruben Sevak, Ruben Zardaryan, Armen Doryan, Levon Larents and Daniel Varujan).
