FAISALABAD:
The All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association has threatened to launch a province-wide strike from January 27 against the frequent tickets being issued to their vehicles by traffic police.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, the association president, Sharafat Khattak, said that oil tankers owners would not tolerate the police’s “indecent attitude” towards tanker drivers and owners.
“We do not want to close our businesses, but we have been forced to do so,” he said. He said traffic wardens had been fining oil tanker drivers without any violation. Khattak said the association planned to observe a wheel-jam strike across the province on January 27 if the administration concerned did not take notice of their complaint.
